The Velleman Foundation is a charitable organization incorporated on December 20 1973 in Ontario. The objectives of the corporation are:

1) To receive and maintain a fund or funds and to apply from time to time all or part there of the income for charitable purposes in relations to enhance or improve treatment and care of persons affected by Down's syndrome and other forms of developmental handicaps.

2) Carrying on scientific research and development work concerned with the treatment and care of the developmentally handicapped.

3) To improve or enhance the education of social workers to work with persons affected by Downs syndrome and other forms of developmental handicaps.
